Hello there, I am Sophie
I'm a project manager. Parent. Expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in our long-range plan. As with many international moves, it began with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt sturdy.
Why I Built LumenFableCinder
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family point of view.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in United Kingdom.
